Another Day another Double for Oakland!

Oakland Park Stud has once again brought up a feature race day double, with the Adam Durrant trained Son Son and Beret winning at Ascot on Saturday.

Racing second up, the 4YO Rogano gelding Son Son put the writing on the wall with a terrific first up effort to God Has Chosen on Winterbottom Stakes day.

Racing second up in the $125k TBWA Stallion Tender Scheme Trophy over 1200m, Son Son had to contend with barrier 12 of 13, but jockey Clint Johnston-Porter was able to quickly negate the wide draw, with Son Son springing the gates and settling in a perfect position just off a hot speed.

Once in the straight, Son Son was able to hunt down Apple Schnapps to record a dominate win, bringing up his 5th victory from 11 starts with 4 minor placings.

The same jockey trainer/combination was successful for Oakland 2 races later, with Beret bringing up her first black type victory in the 125k Listed Startrack Classic over 1600 meters.

Johnston-Porter once again was able to position his horse perfectly just better than midfield, and when they hit straight she was far too strong bringing up her third victory in a row.

The 5YO Helmut mare is one the most consistent horses racing in WA at the moment with 3 wins and 4 seconds from 7 starts this campaign.

Congratulations to all connections.
