Another winner for Sessions and quinella for Oakland Park
An impressive Oakland Park quinella on Saturday in the 2YO Allan Guelfi Plate over 1000 metres at Belmont.
The 2YO filly The Front Bar becomes resident stallion Sessions 39th individual winner from 50 runners (78% winners to runners). It was a pleasing win for our team given her dam Visited is by the former Oakland Park stallion Viscount.
Saturday’s win was her third start, having run fourth on debut at Belmont and went into this race off a last start second at Belmont over 1200 metres when she jumped from a wide gate and had to work her way forward to go down by 1.8 lengths. Her win was full of merit understanding she is an October foal.
We were delighted with the terrific run of He’s A Sizzler, a son of Sizzling out of the Bold Expectations mare She’s A Girl. He has come from second last (11th) on the turn to chase home The Front Bar finishing second only beaten 1.4 lengths running the fastest last 600 metres. He was very green in the straight and should have finished a lot closer.
This was also his third race start after being placed second on debut at Belmont going doing down by 0.2 of a length before a last start seventh at Bunbury beaten 1.7 lengths.
Both these youngsters look to be progressive types to carry the flag for Okland Park into their three year old season.
