Back-to-back Lee Steere wins for Massimo

The team at Oakland Park are thrilled with the courageous effort of home bred Sessions’ gelding Massimo making it back-to-back wins in the Group 2 WAROA Lee Steere Stakes.

Massimo has been an outstanding ambassador for his sire Sessions. His record now stands at 35 starts 10 wins and 14 placings and $1,154,330 in earnings.

He sure is knocking up an impressive resume.

As Jay Rooney from The West Australian wrote in his article “Massimo Joins Elite,” he became the first horse in 50 years to win consecutive Lee- Steere Stakes. Massimo emulated WA Racing Hall of Fame inductee La Trice, who won the Group 2 Lee-Steere in 1971-72.

Oakland Park’s resident stallion Sessions had a winning double on Saturday with the 5YO Big Screens taking out the Glenroy Chaff Handicap over 1400 metres. His record goes to 22 starts for 6 wins and 9 placings.

Congratulations to the connections of both horses and we look forward to their next start over the Carnival.

Sessions stands for $10,000 + GST.
