Big Easter Weekend for Oakland Team

In Kalgoorlie on Friday Where’s Wally (Rogano/Beauty World) ran and won over 1400 mt very strongly for Rod Brown and another Rogano, Too Clever out of the mare Pearls of Wisdom also won over 1200 mt, both winners piloted by Mitchell Pateman.  Transitional (Rogano/Fleeting Fantasy) also trained by Rod Brown and ridden by Mitchell Pateman finished second to Miss Merit in a 1300mt maiden.

At Ascot on Saturday 31 March, Necklet (Snitzel/Visited) trumped Mizlecki, another starter from the Kersley Racing Stable in a well judged ride by Paul Harvey which rewarded Paul with his first Metro win since his return to race riding.

Also at Ascot we enjoyed the fine win of Taxagano (Rogano/Taxa) for Neville’s good friend and Perth Racing Board member, Rod Lukatelich and his partners.

On Saturday our grand old stayer, the 10 year old No Song No Supper (Song of Tara/Deep Time) bought his prize money to just over $500,000 by running second in the 4950mt Great Eastern Steeplechase at Oakbank.  Beaten only by his in-form stable mate Zed Em also trained by Patrick Payne, No Song No Supper completed the 24 jump course with great determination and bravery finishing strongly for jockey Richard Cully who had previously steered him to victory in the Grand Annual at Warrnambool in 2016.  No Song No Supper is co-owned with Reg Webb.
