Climb On Top wins on Debut

Oakland Park debutant Climb On Top ($4.20) made a top start to his career when scoring a convincing win in the Rowdycool Maiden (1200m) at Pinjarra yesterday.

Ridden by Clint Johnston-Porter, the Demerit three-year-old bounced straight to the lead from barrier four and controlled proceedings before giving a strong kick on straightening and accounting for race-favourite Uncle Gerard ($2.35) by almost two-and-a-half lengths.

Crystal Rose ($4) finished a further length away in third place.

Trained by Daniel & Ben Pearce, Climb On Top had six barrier trials across three preparations prior to Thursday’s race debut but rewarded his connections’ patience with a promising performance.
