Five from eight for Not To Be Mist

Five from eight for Not To Be Mist

A very gritty and courageous win by Oakland Park’s Not To Be Mist on Saturday in the Westspeed Platinum Series Final to take his record to 8 starts for 5 wins and a third.

Trainer Adam Durrant has placed this 4YO son of Danehill Express well. In the post-race interview, Adam said his record could have been 8 wins from 8 starts if not for bad luck.

He drew wide on Saturday and with 60 kilograms on his back, it was always going to be a challenge, but Adam was confident he was the best horse in the race.

Unfortunately, on jumping, Willy had no option but to him snag back to try and get cover. The early part of the race was messy, which forced Willy’s hand to push forward, a decision that ultimately won the race for us.

Both Adam and Willy were full of praise for the horse’s tenacious performance, with Adam going further that next year he could possibly be a Railway Stakes contender.
