Five runners for Sessions tomorrow

A big day for Oakland Park’s resident stallion Sessions, who will be represented by five of his progeny at Belmont tomorrow, including two last start winners going around.

The first cab off the rank is the 3YO filly Western Rhythm, part-owned by our good friend Ellie Giles. She starts in race, 1 the Westspeed Platinum maiden over 1400 metres. She ran well on debut finishing second after being slow into stride losing a length.

The Brett Pope trained 3YO gelding Captain Kink (photo) won well last start and tomorrow takes the big step up to stakes level when he runs in the Listed WAROA Belmont Guineas over 1600 metres. It will be a big test given the quality of the field.

Oakland Park’s 3YO filly Put A Spell On You returns from a spell and lines up in race 5, the 3YO handicap over 1200 metres. This stakes-placed filly showed she has what it takes winning three of her seven lifetime starts.

In the same race is the strong last start winner Boomtastic, who was very impressive first-up taking her record to three wins and two placings from only eight starts. She will again be very hard to beat tomorrow.

The last of Sessions runners is our own talented 3YO gelding Massimo. He is knocking on the door to win another race, having finished second in his last three starts.

Oakland Park’s other runner on the day is the old warhorse Pushin’ Shapes, who will be looking at running into form. He does drop back to a benchmark 78+ event, having run seventh in the Group 3 Hyperion Stakes last week.

Good luck to our partners.
