He’s A Sizzler turns tables on Oakland Park stablemate

After an eye catching 2nd to stablemate The Front Bar in July, Oakland Park’s He’s A Sizzler lived up to his name with a much deserved victory for trainer Danny Morton over the The Front Bar and the highly rated Trix Of The Trade in the Free Entry To Belmont Park Plate at Belmont on Saturday (1200m).

In July’s encounter, He’s A Sizzler was settled well back in the field before flying home over 1000m for jockey Chris Parnham to go down to Oakland’s The Front Bar.

In his following race, he also gave his rivals too much of a start, coming from last to run second over 1400m.

The start of the race was no different on Saturday, with He’s A Sizzler dropping out to clear last again for jockey Chris Parnham.

But with only 5 runners in the race, Parnham’s plan to let his ride settle paid off, stoking up a still very green He’s A Sizzler down the outside for an impressive win.

In ominous news for his rivals, Parnham stated post-race that he thought Oakland’s Sizzling-She’s a Girl gelding’s best was yet to come. “There is another couple of gears there, but he is not mentally ready enough to show it yet, but once the penny drops he is going to be a really nice horse.” Parnham said

Oakland’s The Front Bar was far from disgraced, still doing his best work on the line after being very tightly squeezed between He’s A Sizzler on the outside and unbeaten Trix Of the Trade on the inside.  With clear running he would have made the finish very interesting.
