Miss Vasari dominates first up at Belmont
Oakland Park 3YO Miss Vasari (Rogano/Miss Safari) posted a dominate first up victory in the Schweppes Handicap over 1200 at Belmont Park racecourse yesterday for trainer Danny Morton.
On a heavy 8 track ridden by Chris Parnham, Miss Vasari was the widest of 9 horses entering the straight, but the states leading jockey was able to punch her out for a convincing 2.5L victory, in the process taking his metro total to 124 wins, nearly double his nearest rival William Pike.
Oakland Park’s Neville Duncan was understandably very pleased with the win, taking her record to 4 starts with two wins and two 2nd placings.
Vin Collica, Morton’s foreman is really buoyant about her future going forward.
