A very successful Inglis Premier Sale for Oakland Park Stud.
Highlighted by the sale topper Lot 474, a colt by Snitzel out of Beauty World (by Danehill Dancer) selling for $700,000, making him the second highest priced yearling to be sold in Victoria.
The colt is a half – brother to Oakland Park’s exciting galloper Lite’n In My Veins who took out this season’s Group 3 Sir Ernest Lee Steere Classic.
Bidding for the colt started at $300,000, before he was knocked down to bloodstock agent Justin Bahen on behalf of Hong Kong owner Little Kwok Hing Hung.
A trainer has yet to be announced.
Oakland Park sold five lots at the Sale, with the other four being Lot 75, a colt by Snitzel out of Listed winning mare Jestertune, who is a half –sister to Oakland Park’s Group 1 winning gelding Ihtsahymn. He was sold for $200,000 to Melbourne based trainer Ciaron Maher.
The third of our Snitzel colts was Lot 94, by the Japanese-bred mare Last Blaze (by Narita Brian). He is full – brother to Group placed gallopers Perignon and Hollyweird. He was knocked down to leading trainer Gai Waterhouse.
Oakland Park also presented a colt by Not A Single Doubt, the full brother to resident Oakland Park stallion Rogano, out of the Song of Tara (IRE) mare Evoked, a full sister to Group winning mare Spirit of Tara.
The fifth yearling was a colt by Helmet, out of the French-bred mare Sadler’s Girl (by Sadler’s Wells), a three-quarter sister to the European horse of the year and successful sire Barathea. He sold to New Zealand for $120,000.
