Today at Ascot, the son of resident stallion Rogano, Bronze Wing, opened his winning account taking out the class 1 50+ benchmark event over 1600 metres at his fifth race start. Trained by Fred Kersley, the 4YO gelding was first up and has come from fifth on the corner to snatch victory on the line.
In January we saw two more Oakland bred and raced gallopers open their winning account. Firstly, the Stephen Millar trained Locomotive, a 3YO filly by Star Witness lead all the way to win a 3YO maiden at Bunbury. She has subsequently franked that win by running a super race at Ascot at her next start over 1500 metres beaten a half of a length.
The Adam Durrant trained 3YO filly Genzebe, by Lucas Cranach won her maiden at Albany over 1600 metres at her start.
