Son Son dominant
Oakland Park bred 3YO gelding Son Son by our former resident stallion Rogano was dominant in winning the benchmark 60+ graduation handicap at Ascot on Saturday.
Son Son jumped cleanly and was sent straight to the front by Joe Azzopardi, who then dictated the race speed which set Son Son up to kick clear in the straight to win by 2.6 lengths eased down.
Adam Durrant, trainer and co – partner in the horse has placed this progressive 3YO well. His record stands at 7 starts for 4 wins and 3 places earning $162,800 in prize money and Westspeed bonuses.
Adam spoke after the race suggesting he still maturing and should be a much better horse next preparation. His comments were backed up by Joe Azzopardi who told Racing Radio that he gives the feel he can make it through to stakes level.
