Unikat a win for the ladies!

The first of our ‘ladies’ horses, Unikat, gave a huge thrill for its excited owners on Sunday at Northam by winning at his first ever race start.

Ridden by Mitchell Pateman, Unikat looked like getting swamped at the top of the straight, but a few cracks of the whip by Pateman saw Unikat burst away to an easy 1 3/4  length win.

The all ladies racing team was put together by Trish Lukatelich, with many of the owners on course to experience the win.

Unikat is by Universal Ruler out of O’Katie and trained by Darren Mc Auliffe, who has a great record with the Universal Ruler progeny.

Congratulations to our lady owners and may this be the first of many for you!

The win topped off a great day for Oakland Park at Northam with our 3YO Foxwedge filly Caslavska winning her first race in the 1600m maiden for Ben and Dan Pearce.
