The Oakland Park bred Demerit gelding Yindi, out Genana General Nediym), has stepped up from winning his maiden first up this campaign to win the 3YO Open race at Belmont over 1300 metres.
Ridden well by Shaun O’Donnell, the Fred Kersley trained gelding looks more than capable of adding to his winning tally. His 8 starts to date have yielded 2 wins, 2 seconds and a third. Already he has notched up $148,465 in prize money and bonuses.
Kersley told RWWA’s Julio Santerelli, the rising four-year-old, solidly backed from $6 to $3.50 second favouritism, was staring to mature.
“Too be honest with you he can be impressive on the track, but on race day he makes hard work of it,” Kersley said.
“But he hasn’t had much runs and is a chance to get better.”
